The most frustrating part about the violent rhetoric is that when they're being called on it, you'll be accused of 'silencing marginalised people', even if you yourself come from a marginalised community and are tired of seeing this glorification of violence and frankly frightening behaviour. And as you said, they do slap people down by telling them that they haven't experienced Real Oppression™. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of them tend to assume that their detractors are white, rich, cis or from another dominant group, because PoC/poorer people/trans people must OBVIOUSLY agree with their politics 100%. 'Someone said that we were being too nasty to $PERSON. They're SILENCING US!' It's not about being SILENCED, it's about NOT WANTING TO FUCKING LITERALLY CALL FOR PEOPLE'S HEADS over an ideological disagreement, or something someone said several years ago.
And telling people to die is real. Digging up their home address is real. Posting people's pictures everywhere or instructions to their house or sending them shock images is real. This isn't 'justice'. This is being a fucking douchebag and I refuse to support this kind of behaviour, whether it's under the guise of 'social justice' or not.
I loathe 'die cis scum'. I wish I could be more vocal against it, but I worry, sometimes, that people will think that I'm 'not a real activist' because of it. I did come out against it on my personal Tumblr a few months ago, and I had some people unfollow me because I dared to say that I disagreed with that particular point. Apparently in order to have people read your stuff in that community, they've got to agree with every single thing you say.
I am so sick of this violent, puerile, bullying behaviour that people try and pass off as 'social justice'. We should probably mass-unfollow every person/system who supports this stuff at some point.
